KAMPALA – City Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of the Makerere based House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI), currently embroiled in a family wrangle with his wife and children, has hit out at Ms. Jessica Kayanja, wife to the popular Pastor Robert Kayanja, describing her as “arrogant.”
Ms. Teddy Bugingo accuses her husband of trying to wreck their 29-year-old marriage and replacing her with another woman.
“My husband has for long been asking me divorce without any genuine reason,” said Ms. Teddy.
Mr. Bugingo accuses his wife and daughter of trying to steal the church land.
However, in an interview with media, Ms. Bugingo said that the husband threatened that if she denies him divorce, he [Bugingo] will tarnish her reputation in all ways possible.
Ms. Kayanja on Wednesday, May 1 came out in support of Bugingo’s wife asking her stick in her family and fight for what she owns.
Ms. Kayanja announced she was launching a prayer session for Ms. Bugingo, whom she likened to the Biblical Esther “who prevailed and stayed in the palace of the King despite her many foes.”
“May the seed that Ms. Teddy Bugingo has sown for 29 years in this marriage rise up and crush the head of the Serpent,” said Ms. Kayanja.
“I call upon every mother, married woman, child borne of a mother, every Pastor’s wife and every one out there that upholds Holy Matrimony to join the Girl Power Team and I in prayer! The Hebrew woman will not leave her marriage. HADASSAH MUST STAY!!!!,” she added.
This however, did not gowell with Mr. Bugingo who through his media stormed Ms. Kayanja for interfering in matters she has no knowledge about.
“Never involve yourself in issues you don’t understand with ignorance. I have never sat you down to tell you my family issues, a symbol which shows that we have nothing in common though (we are) not enemies. We have never stepped in your church, so if Teddy came to you then advise her wisely,” he said.
The angry pastor added that he has never involved himself in the marital affairs of the Kayanjas even though they are known to have had challenges.
Going to Jessica’s comparison of his wife to the biblical Esther, Bugingo noted that this was a wrong comparison.
He said he wife on the contrary, could be likened to Queen Vashti, who lost her husband, King Ahasuerus, to Esther.
“Esther would not have existed if there was no foolish woman. This is how Esther came in. There has to be a foolish woman, legally married, loved, cared for, given everything but took everything for granted,” he said.
Pastor Wilson Bugembe while commenting on the same matter on Thursday night said that even though Pastor Bugingo has not been good to fellow pastors, they pray for him and his family to get back together.
These wrangles have landed to police as we speak.
