Maroons FC have confirmed Uganda Cranes legend David Obua as their new assistant coach for the upcoming 2018/19 season.
The deal was agreed earlier this week following close to a month of negotiation between the two parties.
This comes a few months after George Best Nsimbe was announced the head coach of the Prison side following the departure of Asap Mwebaze.
Obua, a former winger who featured for Scottish side Hearts before he was released in 2012 said he is going to help impart football knowledge to his players.
“Am happy for this opportunity and am going to impart knowledge of football to my team and see that we win this year’s trophy. Said Obua.
Nsimbe, who has won trophies at KCCA, Vipers, Victors and Azam was happy about the news and said that David Obua is a very intelligent man.
“Am glad that am going to work with former Uganda cranes legend Obua and I believe we shall triumph together. Noted Nsimbe.
“He is an intelligent coach who will surely add value to the team.
Last season, the Prisons side finished 9th on the 16-team log with 37 points.
Maroons open their account of the new season away to Bright Stars in Mwererwe on Friday afternoon.
