HARARE — The Zimbabwean government has unveiled plans to construct a library near the Museum of African Liberation site in Harare in honor of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
State broadcaster ZBC said on Tuesday that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education had said it had seen it fit to establish the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Library in a bid to document, preserve and protect the story of Africa from an African perspective.
The library, which will also be accessible online, is expected to be funded by the private sector and other “progressive organizations”, the broadcaster said.
The Museum of African Liberation, which is currently under construction, will document liberation wars fought on the continent.
