
KAMPALA – Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has on Thursday 21 officially opened the 3rd Economic Growth Forum at Imperial Royale Hotel.
Rugunda said the Forum presents an opportunity to review government performance, identify economic growth challenges and take advantage of the views and knowledge that will be shared by both local and international players to inform government’s policy and economic reforms.
“Allow me reiterate the NRM’s commitment to improving the lives of our young people. It is my expectation that this forum will prescribe ways to enhance their incomes and make them more productive, particularly through skilling and job creation,” said the Premier.

The forum is expected to come up with actionable policies on Agriculture and agro industrialization, private and public investment, tourism development and Urbanisation.
Other areas are: Import substitution and export promotion as well as Education and skills for development.
This Forum has been organised by the Ministry of Finance in conjunction with the International Growth Centre.
