
CHICAGO — The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAa) has received a global accolade from the International Trade Council, for being the best government agency of the year 2019.
The UCAA has walked away with the ‘Go Global Award 2019’ in the aviation category.
The award which is in recognition of costumer care, infrastructure improvement, training of staff, contribution towards supporting Tourism and agricultural exports facilitated through Entebbe International Airport was received by UCAA Manager Marketing and Commercial Services Dr. Tom Davis Wasswa in Chicago USA.
The International Trade Council’s Go Global Awards brings together hundreds of senior executives from some of the most innovative manufacturers, re-manufacturers and exporters, along with representatives from government bodies, trade associations, venture capital firms and financial institutions.
The Go Global Awards help celebrate the businesses that are driving international trade through their innovations, technologies and strategies.
The recent award has been received a month after the international Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recorginised Uganda with ICAO Council President’s Certificate in recognition of efforts to resolve aviation security deficiency at the ICAO Assembly in Montreal Canada in September.
The ICAO award was in recognition of an outstanding performance in the 2017 Universal Security Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP -CMA) in which Uganda scored above global average of 73% and the African and Indian Ocean States average of 58%.
