
KAMPALA — The General Manager Tororo Cement LTD G.M. Gagrani has said that the company will partially suspend production and factory operations to prevent the spread of COVID19 in line with the presidential directive.
Mr Gagrani, said some sites remain open for business while others will be closed.
“Some of the sites will be open especially the project side,” he said in a phone interaction with this website.
He further added that company is planning to transport most of the workers back home.
Tororo Cement has also contributed two hundred million shillings (UGX.200m) and a medical ambulance to the fight of the pandemic.
” We also offer our medical ambulance for any emergency, strictly on the direction of District Medical Officer,” he wrote in an earlier statement.
President Museveni on Monday ordered a two-week nationwide lockdown in a bid to combat further spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
He also ordered that factories who remain open should make temporary camps for workers.
