
KAMPALA — The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and National Drug Authority (NDA) have cleared and certified 17 more companies to produce sanitizers as of 8th April 2020.
This is aimed at protecting consumers from buying sanitisers that do not comply with standards and are harmful to their health, in the wake of COVID-19.
The 17 companies are an addition to the 11 companies that were earlier certified, bringing the total to 28 companies producing 36 brands of sanitizers as listed below
UNBS is providing free technical assistance together with free sanitizer and disinfectant standards to sanitizer manufacturers and as such, 110 companies producing 139 brands are still pending approval for
certification.
Another updated list will be issued on 16th April 2020.
