
KAMPALA – The National Water and Sewerage Corporation has scooped two Excellence Awards.
They are; Commissioner General’s Strategic Partner Award and Best Digital Customer Experience Excellence Award.
This was on Friday 11 as Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) celebrated Taxpayers appreciation day 2020 held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.
Receiving the Commissioner General’s Strategic Partner Award, NWSC Spokesperson Mr. Samuel Apedel said that the corporation was hailed for being a good corporate citizen and a strategic partner in tax payment.

NWSC has distinguished itself for deployment of enabling technology for customer information management.
The partnership with URA, helped the tax body to use the same approach to manage strategic tax segments in an efficient, nonintrusive and customer centered way.” he said
The Best Digital Customer Experience Excellence Award was awarded in recognition of the Corporation’s Excellent Digital User Customer Experience.
Speaking about the awards, NWSC MD Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha attributed the “Dabolo success” to the continous tireless efforts and commitment from NWSC staff.
“The COVID-19 pandemic and its challenges have not deterred our staff from giving work their best. It is very encouraging to see their efforts rewarded. .” he said.
The function was officiated by Finance Minister Matia Kasaija who applauded the taxpayers saying without them the country can not succeed. He also thanked Uganda Revenue Authority for doing a good job.
“When you pay your taxes, bear in mind that you are also serving your interests. Paying taxes is not a punishment,” said Kasaija.

Kasaija warned Ugandans to guard against #Covid19 which he said is now here to stay.
He also encouraged Ugandans and taxpayers to embrace value addition in their businesses.
“The problem is people who don’t want to pay taxes. They want to become billionaires without paying taxes,” said the Minister.
He said the Economy is now improving and people should not despair.
