KAMPALA — Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has allowed a one-day deadline extension to taxpayers to file their tax returns without facing any penalties related to late payment.
The deadline extension followed a URA online payment system downtime on deadline, forcing many taxpayers to petition the taxbody through social media.
In a public notice, URA says affected taxpayers now have upto Thursday midnight to file their tax returns and other taxes that are due without facing any penalties related to late payment.
The public notice also adds that all URA online services have since been restored and taxpayers can access them without any interruptions.
