In a statement released on Thursday by Hoziana Niyonsaba, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at UBA Uganda, the bank clarified that contrary to allegations released by many online news sites spreading false information about the change in management at United Bank for Africa Uganda (UBA Uganda), which some have referred to as a management crisis, the bank has no crisis.
The notice states: “As a bank that values progress and good work, we can confirm that Mrs Chiama A. Mang, the Immediate Managing Director/CEO of UBA Uganda Limited, has been promoted and given more group responsibility as of October 2024.”
The banks also stated that UBA Uganda would soon announce their new Managing Director/CEO, as is customary in corporate governance. “We appreciate Mrs. Chiama A. Mang’s work for UBA Uganda during her time, which was marked by growth, and we wish her the best of luck in her new role, ” Niyonsaba noted.
In the notice, Niyonsaba thanked the media for its continued trust and belief in UBA Uganda and advised them to always verify information through the Bank’s official channels to ensure its accuracy and prevent the spread of false information.
