KAMPALA, UGANDA – Vivo Energy Uganda has unveiled a new lubricant, Shell Rimula R3X 20W-50 API CH-4, specifically designed for heavy-duty diesel-powered engine vehicles.
The product launch, dubbed “Simbula ne Rimula R3X,” aims to provide triple action-enhanced protection against heat, engine wear, and deposit formation, extending engine life.
“Shell Rimula R3X meets the new Uganda National Bureau of Standards recommendations for lubricant APIs,” Francis Kayoki, Lubricants Manager at Vivo Energy Uganda, said. “This product offers superior protection and fuel efficiency, ensuring engines remain strong for longer.”
The lubricant is targeted at commercial vehicles, including taxis, lorries, trucks, and buses with older engines.
To promote the new product, Vivo Energy Uganda has launched a two-month campaign, rewarding over 7,000 commercial drivers with prizes worth over 200 million Uganda shillings.
Participants can win two brand-new canter trucks, fuel, airtime, and other prizes by purchasing a 5-litre pack of Shell Rimula R3X and entering a unique code.

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards has updated its recommendations for lubricant APIs, and Vivo Energy Uganda’s new product meets these standards.
The promotion will run for two months, giving participants ample time to experience the superior triple protection and performance offered by Shell Rimula R3X.
