
KAMPALA, Uganda — UAP Old Mutual Life Assurance celebrated its top-performing sales agents at a gala awards ceremony held at the Mestil Hotel in Nsambya, Kampala, on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The event recognized the dedication and achievements of the company’s agents over the past year, offering prizes ranging from premium household items and international trips to a grand prize of a new car.
The 2024 Agency Awards aimed to motivate and reward excellence within UAP Old Mutual’s sales force, whose efforts the company credited with driving growth and providing quality service to clients across Uganda. The event underscored the insurer’s commitment to supporting its agents with resources and incentives.
Justine Namugosa was the standout winner of the evening, taking home the grand prize of a Subaru. Namugosa also won a trip to Cape Town in the seasoned agents category, receiving a certificate and plaque for her performance.
Several agents and managers were recognized in the Premium Items category, winning televisions and refrigerators. The winning agents included Rashid Kizito, Hanifah Nakalema, Hadijah Nakanwagi, Ruth Tumwijukye, Mary Kyendibaza, and Robert Mutebi. Managers Faridah Nazziwa and Margaret Nakakande, along with regional manager Edgar Katsigwa, also received awards in this category.
The Cape Town trip category saw wins for both seasoned and new agents. Alongside Namugosa, seasoned agent Anthony Kaguma (Team Manager) earned a trip. New agent winners included Zackius Tushabe, Thomas Kasirye, Ashiraf Ddumba, and Judith Namwogerere.
Winners of the Mombasa trip included seasoned agents Leilah Kabugo, Mitchelle Mugyeni, and Judith Kakuze, along with team manager Sophie Luzinda. New agents Edrida Kabahuma, Lillian Kabazaarwe, Joanah Kagoya, and Charles Kadolya also received the Mombasa trip as a reward for their achievements.
Patrick Kinoti Kimathi, Managing Director of UAP Old Mutual Life Assurance, expressed his appreciation for the agents’ contributions during the ceremony.

Kimathi also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in its agents’ growth through training, resources, and incentives. “The future holds immense opportunity, and together, we will continue to set new benchmarks of excellence in Uganda’s insurance industry,” he added.
The awards ceremony concluded with agents expressing renewed energy and motivation for the upcoming year.
