GULU – Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) through the Department of Crop Protection in collaboration with CABI Plantwise has launched ‘Plant Clinics initiative’ in Gulu District.
The newly introduced clinics will cover the Northern region of the country.
Plant clinics provide a meeting place for trained plant health advisors, known as plant doctors and the farmers they aim to serve. The clinics are operated by local extension officers who have been trained by Plantwise and MAAIF in the relevant techniques and skills needed to run a plant clinic.
They provide diagnosis and advice on any problem and any crop, and when they need additional help, they are linked to rich knowledge resources to further assist farmers in the area.
