Mother earth, Oh you
You are just questioning the deeds of humanity,
with such intensity
that you must have been suffering from destruction,
from the moment you were born.
They injured you, destroyed you
As you patiently watched,
The wetlands, forests, all vegetation cover is no more,
You wondered if time was worth anything
because, to most people, it was so much easier
to destroy you in the name of development without minding
and accept the truth that Ugandans wanted you to believe in.
Perhaps your patience was a gift of a mother,
or your love for us
to the earth destroyers,
Maybe your patience was some sort of guidance,
for man,
who never really believed
that injuring you was disastrous,
and is it time now,
look at the environment today,
seasons have changed, farmers no longer plant in February
like it were before
have you now lost the patience,
You are striking us without mercy
Floods, landslides, drought, famine, diseases, death for us,
and vast crop failure
It is common knowledge,
that we suffer from our human created problems.
As you know so well,
not a single person, country in the world is innocent
those who run, run, run
but never escape from your wrath
because they are getting the answers,
for the questions they set for you, mother earth.
