Singer George Kwesiga alias Quex, famed for his song Kachumbali has clapped back at social media crucifixions where he is currently branded as a one hit wonder.
You did not enjoy the lockdown if you did not jam to the Kachumbali song which became a household hit at the time. The song was being played on all radio and TV channels with dance challenges being made in the song.
While appearing on a local entertainment TV show, Quex said that he is in no rush to find another hit song to follow up the famous ‘Kachumbali’ hit.
He said he has received lots of criticism following his successful hit single, and he is not ready to take on more pressure.
He wrote Kachumbali in January 2019 and released it in February. The audio had been around for 14 months, but people appreciated the song after a video was released during the lockdown in March 2020.
“I always see people abusing me on Twitter, saying I will not have another banger like Kachumbali. Others said that my Kachumbali video is worth Shs.2000,” Quex said.
The calm singer added that he is a person who believes in progress and he will not invest over Shs. 10Million when he has not even bought himself a piece of land.
Quex further shared that he has projects in the pipe line like ‘Vibe Ekute’ but he will not bow to people’s pressure just to prove a point.
Quex is an artiste who writes all genres of music alongside rap. Before Kachumbali, he had released songs such as Batukakasa, I Can’t Wait Tonight, Regina, What a Bum Bum [Ft Big Mo 256 & Moya King], Dusk Till Dawn, Nga Amazzi ft. Moya King, Makindye, and Lovely Woman.
