
As Ugandans bid farewell to the year 2017, a year that has been characterized by highs and lows as well as intense political activity that preceded the amendment of Article 102 (b) of the Constitution, PML Daily brings you the social events that left Ugandans, mostly Kampala revelers demanding more.

KAMPALA–The year 2018 is coming to an end hence we decided to number the unforgettable entertainment events that made it in 2017. Though the year started like it will never come to an end if am to remind you about January days full of brokenness after spending a year’s savings during the 2016 festive season.
No matter 2017 being a year of financial struggles, people still had budgets for hanging out. Just like with the belief ‘work without play makes Jack dumb’, the financial crisis couldn’t resist party animals from having fun.
Here we list a few well organized events that failed many to save for a day, nevertheless, shows that attracted big numbers of party flocks.
5. Kampala Cake and Ice cream festival.
Bravo to the organiser, one Solomon and colleagues. This show was the second of its kind to happen around town and guess what, every Tom, Brenda and Kevin couldn’t stand it missing such a family picnic event because it was obvious, who doesn’t like ice cream or cakes.
This event put up a big following because it was the only hang out event organised to take place that day.
Ice cream festival saw a number of revelers crowd Uganda museum grounds on August 27th all powered by Club Twist along side Ciroc ambassador and Ahumuza Brian among others.
4. Morgan Heritage live concert
This was the only international reggae performance show that happened this year. The event influenced many reggae flocks call them ‘Rastafarians’ travel from across East Africa to come party jumping up high due to much love of musical legendary Morgan family. This was the only public event this year that saw Rastafarians puff smoke like chimney.
Organized by Buzz events alongside Bell lager, the gig hosted Mojo Morgan , Peetah Morgan, Gramps Morgan and Jemere Morgan on April 13th who put up a big performance at Lugogo Cricket Oval that left many goers asking for more.
3. Wizzy kid live in Kampala
This show proved that Ugandans only care about having a musical blast with an artiste performing on stage. Who thought revelers would go for Nigeria’s Wizzy Kid show at Lugogo Cricket Oval after all the insults to Ugandans the singer put on social media.
However, the singer buried the hatched with his fans promising another free show and to cause unity, he request to make a collaboration with Fik Fameica, Uganda’s new dancehall artist in the industry.
The event which was organized by Face TV attracted a number of partiers on December 8th at the venue to the extent that some babes fell in love obsessively with Wizzy Kid struggling to get on stage.
2. Young Achievers Awards (YAA)
This is one of the unforgettable annual events among other projects under Reach a hand Uganda. Any witness will assure you better how glamorous this function was as far as decor is concerned. The event known to acknowledge Ugandans for their effective efforts and ideas in different fields was organized on August 14th by Humphrey Nabimanya at Serena Hotel, Kampala.
1. Abryan Style and Fashion Awards (ASFA)
ASFA’s fifth edition makes it in the first position for it being extremely attended to, not only by natives but also international celebrities like Mafiki-zolo, America’s MAC company among others.
This annual gig is meant to reward personalities whose efforts regards fashion advancement are worthy. This event attains a bonus for recognising continental individuals (Africa) in all categories of nominations. Serena Hotel was crowded by fashion addicts dressed to kill on December 8th, bravo to Ahumuza Brian, CEO ASFA hence proprietor, Abryanz Collection- a stylish fashion collection and Fenon events who took charge of the decor. The event was powered by Ciroc Vodka, Bell lager, Kampala City Council Authority, Uganda Police, Spark TV among others.
Other 2017 events which almost made it to the list include; Tekno and Mr. Eazi, Kampala Fashion Week and Nyege nyege
