KAMPALA– Ssalongo Henry Mukoza, the father to gospel singer Judith Babirye, is not happy with his daughter holding her traditional marriage ceremony in a hotel.
Mukoza said such ceremonies are meant to be held at one’s traditional home so that the village people witness the ceremony for purposes of respect.
“I would not want my daughter to hold her kwanjula ceremony in a hotel because that affects my respect as a Ssalongo.’’
Babirye’s introduction ceremony will be held at a secret location tomorrow Saturday July 28 and sources have said that the venue is somewhere in Kawuku along Entebbe road.
However, on the invitation cards that have been distributed have no venue.
“Hon Judith Babirye with pleasure invites you to her introduction ceremony due to take place on 28th July 2018 at a private venue that will be communicated.” The card reads in part.
The Woman MP for Buikwe District will marry her fellow legislator, Paul Musoke Ssebulime of Buikwe North and the two have reportedly been dating for close to two years.
Recently, a woman known as Lukia Ntale came out and called Babirye a husband snatcher. Ntale stated live on TV that Mr. Musoke was her husband and they have been married for ten years.
However, Babirye responded that she was not backing down at whatever cost, unless Ntale produces marriage certificates proving her claims of marriage to Ssebulime.
