DUBAI, UAE – City socialite and businessman Suleiman Kabangali Mbuga known to many as SK Mbuga is a free man having been released from jail in Dubai after 10 months.
According to reports, Mbuga was arrested in Dubai and jailed without trial in January 2018 over allegations of committing fraud of over 53 million Swedish krona which is about Shs23 billion.
It was then reported that the fraud deal involved his wife Angella Vivienne Birungi but the latter was not arrested.
Mbuga was jailed at Awir Central Jail in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to Sten Heinsoo, the plaintiff, the money had disappeared abroad when he tried to help a female friend, in this case, SK Mbuga’s wife Vivienne to transport gold from Uganda to Sweden.
A Source also said that he is out of jail but still in Dubai.
“SK Mbuga is a free man now but still in Dubai, finalizing with some clearances,” the family member who preferred anonymity is quoted to have said.
Several other sources fault fashionist Kim Swagga saying he caused Mbuga’s arrest.
They claim Mbuga’s arrest was not in connection to the alleged Swedish krona 53 million fraud but rather a ‘deal gone bad’ involving city socialite and fashionista Kim Swagga, Mbuga’s close associate.
