KAMPALA– Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has applauded fellow musician Eddy Kenzo real name Edrisa Musuuza for raising Uganda flag high through his music.
Kenzo started music in the year 2008 and the artiste is celebrating ten years in the industry in the concert dubbed ‘My journey concert’ slated January 4, 2019, at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
Through his official Facebook page, Bobi Wine has said that Kenzo is indeed an artiste to celebrate his music journey regardless of the ongoing attack on conscious music and art.
“You can never appreciate the value of what you have until it is gone or until it is threatened. Even in the midst of the ongoing attack on conscious music and art, I choose to celebrate one of the most tremendous talents in our midst- my brother and friend right from the Ghetto. It is ten years of #EddyKenzo. Ten years of #Big talent. Ten years of good music. Ten years of raising our flag high. Ten years of bringing awards home. Ten years of inspiration. And yes, ten years of standing for what is right. I invite you all to be there on 4th January 2019 at Serena Hotel and celebrate with this icon,” posted Bobi Wine.
It is believed that Kenzo is one of the most appreciated artistes in Uganda, East Africa and the world at large. Among others, the musician is the first and only Ugandan artiste who won Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award. He won this 2015.
It is remembered that Bobi Wine has on several occasions been intercepted by police to host music shows with most recent December 26, 2018, at Busabala on grounds that there is a lot of politics in his music.
