PARIS – American hip hop star Chris Brown real name Christopher Maurice Brown has been arrested in Paris, France on allegations of aggravated rape and drug violation.
According to a French judicial source, Chris Brown allegedly raped a 24 year- old woman at Mandarin Orienal hotel on January 15.
However, the US Embassy in Paris declined to comment on the report.
A 29-year-old Brown is being held along with two other people, one of which is his body guard and another a friend.
French officials say that charges have not yet been filed against him, though he could face charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions.
In 2009, Chris Brown assaulted his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. In July, he was again arrested on charge of felony battery in Florida and realised on bail.
He is banned from entering the UK because of his criminal record.
