
KAMPALA – The search for Miss Uganda 2019 is in full gear and a lot of pre-events to create the hype are under way.
On Thursday evening, the contestants rubber-stamped the “Beauty with a purpose” slogan by displaying undisputed skill and talent which is usually not the norm.
They flaunted various skills in poetry, basket ball, singing, drama, fashion and design, make -up, cultural performances, news anchoring among others.
The surprise of the night was when Mr. Lambert Mulangira proposed to his long-time lover Ms Margret Namirembe on stage which created a magical moment of silence that gave a breather to the adoring fans that were thoroughly entertained from the beginning to the end.
As the evening ascended Nina Roz hit the stage with her hard -hit bangers such as ” Munda dala” ,”Ana yinama”,
“Olumya bano” among others that brought cheers from the audience.

Ms. Brenda Nanyonjo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Miss Uganda franchise thanked the fans for turning up in big numbers and showing support to the contestants.
“Please bring more of the banners, posters and placards at the grand finale on Friday July 26, at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala to make it happen for these young women.” She added.
The event was attended by former Miss Uganda queens such as Leah Kagasa, Phiona Buzu, Sylvia Wilson Namutebi and Quiin Abenakyo who watched keenly as the pageants exhibited their acts on stage.
The Judges included; Aly Allibhai, Brenda Nanyonjo, Wcyliff Luyomba, and Ronnie Mulindwa who were present to assess the contestants.
The finale will be graced by resigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de Leon who will make a cameo appearance as a special guest.
The entry fees to this glamorous event will cost UGX 40,000 for the general audience and UGX 80,000 (VIP) and a corporate table will go for UGX 4 million only.
