KAMPALA – Ashraf Kato, one of the popular bloggers of the People Power movement, has posted pictures of him and his colleagues posing with President Museveni at his farm in Kisozi, Gomba District.
According to Kato, they were presented to the President by events promoters Balaam Barugahara
He says where they presented to the President a project proposal called “The Ghetto Initiative” which is going to see all Kampala ghettos revived.
“After teaching us all the basics of farming and rearing cows, the president gave me five cows (5) and he also gave my other team two cows each …. He asked us to implement and teach the farming skills he taught us to our fellow youths.”
Kato added that the President was happy with their proposal whose implementation will start soon.
Musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool was pleased with the news.
“Welcome home my young brothers Ashbag Kato, Ray Superstar and Mr. mobilizer Western. Having different political ideologies is not bad but sitting on the same table to present them is even better,” said Bebe Cool.
President Museveni has been on the charm offensive since last year, targeting several supporters of People Power movement.
In November 2019, he ppointed Catherine Kusaasira and Mark Bugembe, aka Buchaman, his special presidential advisors on Kampala city and ghetto.
He has since met musicians Edrisah Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo and Jennifer Nakanguubi aka Full-Figure at State House, Nakasero. This new-found love with nonpolitical actors, who are mostly musicians and music promoters, is taking the centre stage of politics.
