
KAMPALA – The music fraternity has this morning been saddened by the death of Gagamel International Singer Allan Masengere known by his stage name ShortKut.
The singer who succumbed to a yet to be known illness has been in intensive care unit for close to two months and his health has just been deteriorating.
The news of his death has been confirmed in a downhearted mood Facebook post by his boss who also doubles as his uncle, Moses Sali alias Bebe Cool
“The Lord has decided my son Allan Massengere should join him in a better place, thank all the doctors and nurses who tried to save his life for the past 40 days. May his soul rest in peace,” Bebe Cool posted.
The bond between the Bebe Cool and the now Late Shortkut has been big as the ‘Nkuliyo’ singer had now owned him as a son, apart from just being his nephew.
In a Facebook post, fellow singer Bobi Wine who also doubles as the Fire Base Crew boss also expressed his sorrows for the loss of the singer.
“Today, the Ugandan Music fraternity has lost yet another talent. Allan Masengere aka ShortKut. On behalf of the firebase crew and myself, we send heartfelt condolences to family, friends and the Gagamel Crew. We stand with you and pray that God sees you through this challenging time,” he posted.

Bebe Cool’s history with Shortcut is immense as the two were together in 2010 when they both narrowly survived being gunned down at Centenary Park, Kampala after performing at R. Kelly’s concert.
News of the singer’s illness has been around for some time and fellow musicians, fans have been sending get-well-soon and comforting messages on social media to the now deceased.
These included Makerere-based House of Prayer Ministries head Pastor Aloysius Bugingo who paid him a visit in hospital to pray for him and also anointment for healing.
Shortkut is famously remembered for his monster hit song; Big Mouth By Far which featured Denzo that bred more beef between Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine in 2013.
