
KAMPALA – As the year gets close to an end, a number of awarding franchises are putting out nomination lists for their different categories.
One person that is becoming a recurring figure in these nominations is multi award winning artist and Uganda’s Tourism Ambassador Edriisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo.
Kenzo has had quite a good musical year with two monster hits (Tweyagale and Semyekozo) to his name this year despite the Coronavirus pandemic, a thing that some artists have not achieved.
His musical strength however crosses boarders and that is the very reason he continues to be nominated in the different awards outside East Africa.
Latest on his long list of awards he is nominated in is the Cameroon-based Muzikol Music Awards.
The Big Talent boss is nominated in the Best African Artist category together with the likes of Burna Boy, Master KG, Wizkid, Davido, Teni, Innos’ B, Shatta Wale, Diamond Platnumz and Salatiel.
Through his official social media platforms, handles, the ‘Yogera Bulungi’ singer shared his excitement of being nominated in the Cameroonian awards, describing them as “big awards in Cameroon”.
“Breaking News: Eddy Kenzo has been nominated in another big Awards in Cameroon (Muzikol Music Awards). He is competing with Davido, Burnaboy, Innos’B, Shatta Wale, Diamond, Teni, Wizkid, Master KG & Salatiel in the category of Best African Artist 2020,” Kenzo shared on his socials.
As they always do, his fans have already embarked on the voting process and going by past experiences, chances are high Kenzo will bring the award home despite the stiff competition.
According to Muzikol Music Awards (MUMA), their main objective is to reward and recognize excellence and distinguish performances in the African music industry.
“We strive to reward all the stakeholders of the music Industry such as singers,producers, event organizers, record labels, artist managers and music innovations,” they shared on their socials after putting out the nomination lists.
