KAMPALA – Luck is believed to be success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions – and it could have been the same channel that Sarah took when she enrolled to travel and work as a maid in the middle, East – six years ago.
Sarah landed into the hands of renowned United Arab Emirates – UAE social media influencer, Khalid Al Ameri and family and the rest is history – after the employer and employee became friends. The employer pledged to foot as well as footing his worker’s wedding function- when the right time had approached – and like most Arabs, Khalid is in Uganda to fulfill his pledge.
Khalid and his family arrived in Uganda on Tuesday to honour their promise of attending the wedding ceremony of their former Ugandan house maid.
Khalid and his family posted several videos on the social media, attracting over a million viewership as they pledged to pay for all the expenses of Sarah’s wedding as well as witnessing the function.
The couple is said to have described Sarah as a good ‘ambassador of Uganda’ who had over the years became their sister.
“It’s an honour to be here in the pearl of Africa. Sarah gave my family a very beautiful introduction to Uganda, she’s an incredible ambassador, she represents you with the utmost respect, dignity, work ethic and kindness. She never was a worker to our family but a sister,” the media quoted Khalid as saying.
In similar development, the Uganda Tourism Board -UTB and Great Lakes Safaris have booked Khalid and family for a three day all expenses paid courtesy visit to tourism sites in Uganda before Sarah’s wedding slated for this weekend.
Khalid and family will be treated to a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable park; as well as a cultural performance from Ndere Cultural Centre.
