Kids between 7-15 years to participate Prizes worth shs 3,000,000 to be awarded to top 5 participants
KAMPALA – Sheraton Kampala Hotel, the home of festive celebrations in Uganda has partnered with Nation Media Group- Uganda to hold the first ever Easter baking competition dubbed the Easter Bake-Off targeted at children aged between 7-15 years.
The competition is set to take place on Easter Sunday- 4th April, 2021from 12pm to 3pm as other Easter celebrants enjoy the annual Easter Brunch at the Hotels La Terrace Restaurant.
Speaking at the launch of the competition, the Hotels General Manager, Jean Philippe Bittencourt said, “We are extremely excited about this Easter and the Bake-off, it being the first of its kind at our Hotel. Children are the heart of any festive season and so we thought this was the best way to engage them, give them an opportunity to express their creativity freely and engage with our best chefs while their parents also enjoy their stay with us. Through such engagements, children, who are the future of any economy, grow interest in sectors like ours and if guided well by their parents and support systems, grow to do well for themselves in future,” adding that; “I therefore urge you to encourage your children to participate in the Easter Bake-off. The deadline for registration is Thursday 25th March 2021and considering the SOPs in place, the competition is limited to 20 children so well be taking them on based on a first come, first serve approach.”
The competitors will be judged by Mr. Jean Philippe Bittencourt, General Manager- Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Mr. Tony Glencross, Managing Director – Nation Media Group- Uganda and the Executive Chef, Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

The participants will be judged based on Presentation, and Taste of their creations.
Participation guidelines
To register for the competition, one will have to fill a coupon in the Daily Monitor between Tuesday 30th March 2021 to Thursday 1st April 2021.
The participant will then deliver the coupon to Sheraton Kampala Hotels Food and Beverages office.
Selected participants will then meet with the Sheraton Kampala Executive-Chef for a briefing and tips on Saturday 3rd April 2021 at 10:00am, prior to the Bake-off competition.
The competition will kick-off on 4th April 2021 at 11:00am at Le Terrace Restaurant at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

Overall winner- Executive room for 1 night and media profiling
1st runner-up- family brunch for 4
2nd runner up- family brunch for 3
3rd & 4th runner ups- tasteful cake from our temptations cake shop.
Other Easter season activities lined up
The Easter celebrations will kick off with a Good Friday Hang out on April 2nd, 2021 which will run from 5pm at the Hotels Paradise Restaurants with live band entertainment from Ivuga Band.
The Hotel will also host the Easter Brunch on Easter Sunday April 4th, 2021 at its Seven Seas Restaurant from 12pm to 5pm for only shs135,000 for adults and 50% off for children. The great food and kids games including; live rabbits, egg Hunting, Acrobatics & puppet shows, bouncing castles coupled with family entertainment from the Golden Brothers band.
Unwind on Easter Monday at the Kyoga poolside and Paradise restaurant with a sumptuous BBQ from 12pm 5pm.
