KAMPALA – Can. John Fred Kazibwe, the headteacher of King’s College Budo, and his wife, Dr. Anne N. Kazibwe, have celebrated a remarkable milestone – 25 years of marriage. The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, officiated the ceremony at Namirembe Cathedral, where he emphasized the importance of forgiveness in marriage.
Archbishop Kazimba noted that many marriages struggle due to a lack of cooperation, particularly in financial matters. He cautioned that material wealth is not a guarantee of happiness, especially during difficult times. Instead, he encouraged couples to focus on building strong, enduring relationships.
The Archbishop praised the Kazibwes for their commitment to each other, citing their children and grandchildren as witnesses to the importance of preserving marriage. He blessed the couple and expressed his wish for them to celebrate many more years together, even reaching a 50-year milestone.
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, sent his deputy, Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa, to represent him at the ceremony. Nsibirwa commended Can. Kazibwe for his honesty, wisdom, and consistency, highlighting his positive impact on the community.
The couple attributed their successful marriage to God’s guidance and encouraged other couples to strive for similar milestones. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the Speaker of Buganda Lukiiko, Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule, and the Buganda Minister of Education, Cotilda Nakate.
