City businessman, Godfrey Kirumira has dragged socialite Jack Pemba to court over failure to pay his debt.
Kirumira claims to have lent $300,000 (about Shs1billion) to Pemba last year but the latter hadn’t paid back yet despite several reminders.
This has forced Kirumira to take the matter to court through his lawyers of Kajeke, Maguru and Co advocates.

According to Kirumira, he lent the money to Pemba last year and according to the agreement they signed, the latter was supposed to pay back in installments.
Payment of the first installment of $100,000 was to be by 17 November, 2017 upon which he would receive back his car, a Land Cruiser that he had surrendered as security.
He was supposed to have cleared all of his debt by the end of December but he hasn’t paid back a single coin to date.
Kirumira thus requested court to arrest the socialite for he is about to leave the country and once this happens, he will likely never get his money back.
After failing to turn up as summoned, Commercial Court Registrar Festo Nsenga ordered for Pemba’s arrest by 27 April, 2018 if he fails to turn up.
In addition to throwing a lavish party for his wife where the guest performer was renowned Congolese musician Koffi Olomide, Pemba recently bought a brand new Land Cruiser said to have cost him over Shs. 600 million and it’s this that is believed to have cut short Kirumira’s patience.
