
KAMPALA – Ugandans in the film industry are smiling big after being recognised in the forthcoming African Magic Viewers Choice Awards 6th Edition due to take place on 1st September, 2018 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Ayokya Yokya hit-maker and actress, Cindy Sanyu, was nominated for her role in Bella The Movie in the Category of Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV Series).
Mathew and Eleanor Nabwiso who started their journey in a Tv Series known as The Hostel were nominated in the Category of Best Movie East Africa for their role in their movie, Rain, Samuel Kizito Saviour nominated for Best Movie for his role in Forbidden, Agaba Joan nominated Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV Series) for her role in the movie Torture, Rushabiro Raymond best Actor, Mulindwa Richard nominated as Best Director in the movie, Torture and Andrew Ahuura nominated for Best Soundtrack.

AMVCA is an annual Multichoice event where they recognise outstanding achievement in television and film. The nominations were announced by Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas and Nigerian Comedian Bovi in a televised cast on all Africa Magic Channels on Dstv and Gotv.
Mathew Nabwiso is the only Ugandan who has ever scoped an award in the AMVCA. In 2013 he won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama beating big names in the African Movie industry like Osita Iheme, Kalu IKeagwu, Fabian Adeoye and Thomas Gumede.
The nominees will battle it out in 27 categories in this highly competitive edition of the AMVCA, seven categories will be opened to the public and 20 decided on by the AMVCA panel of judges.
