KAMPALA- Uganda Musicians Association will see new leadership as of 1st October 2018 after the current chairman Julius Kyazze threw in the towel today morning.
In a statement released by Kyazze, who is also CEO of now industrial area based record label, Swangz Avenue, stated that his personal commitments have robbed him of time to serve the association to his best ability.
“Today I stepped down as the chairman of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) effective 1st October. Offering leadership to some of Uganda’s most talented men and women will forever be one of my fondest experiences,” reads part of Kyazze’s statement.
Uganda Musicians Association was founded last year with an aim of promoting unity amongst Ugandan musicians as well as preserving and protecting their music. Most artistes then suggested songstress Juliana Kanyomozi be their chairperson but she turned it down claiming she had a busy schedule and recommended Julius Kyazze who took on the leadership of the association.
