
ENTEBBE – The Malengo Foundation a – non Profit Organization pulled off the 3rd edition of the Hot Pink Cat walk fashion show for persons with disabilities.
The cat walk dubbed “disability rights for reduced inequalities” excited the audience that stayed glued to the models walking down the run way, show casing various outfits.
According to the executive director Malengo Foundation, Michelle Omamteker there is distraction against the people with disabilities who are not well presented and catered for in sections such as health, Education , Opportunities among others.
“We have set up an online shop to enable people buy our products and by so doing they are supporting our projects. I thank the partners and designers who have stood with us since we started pursing this vision,” Omamteker said.
“Disability is just a perception and am very glad that such persons can walk down the run way better than normal people and as Open Society initiative for Eastern Africa we pledge our commitment to this noble cause,” added Nalumansi Rita Nalunkuma Programs officer Disability Rights and Chief Guest.
The models at the event were dressed by Uganda’s best designers like Kabuye Rafeal , Eguana , Paple Rayn, Martha Jabo, Muyomba,Nfka Clothing , Bery Couture , kais Divo collection, Ras Kasozi, Kori House of couture & Design , Teeto Africa, Kongo – Liro and many others.
