
KAMPALA – Ugandan female dancehall singer Vinka real name Veronica Nakiyingi has topped the 2018 HiPipo awards nominations
The UBL Red Card responsible drinking campaign brand ambassadorship has received four nominations in the prestigious HiPipo awards.
The Swangz Avenue singer who has been on the music scene for two years now has been nominated in; Artist of the year, Best Female Artist and her Chips and Ketchup Video was nominated video of the year.
She was also nominated for the collaboration of the year for her song Tubikole which she did with Fic Fameica.
Under the theme ‘We the Best’, Vinka is battling it out with Sheebah, Fille, Rema, Spice Diana and Winnie Nwagi for the artist of the year accolade.
The HiPipo awards celebrate and promote music, musicians, and artistic excellence in Uganda, East Africa and with special categories for whole of Africa. Now in its 8th edition.
Voting for HiPipo awards is open to the public and the awards grand finale will take place on March 16, 2019, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The fast-rising female singer, Veronica Nakiyingi Luggyaaka Vinka started her music career at Swangz Avenue as the manager of Irene Ntale and later on decided to pursue a music career after Ntale quit the music label. She has released many songs and among them is ‘OVERDOSE’, a collabo with Voltage music.
