KAMPALA – The third edition of ‘Tugende Mu Kikadde’ is back on Saturday, May 4, at the Serena Hotel, Kampala.
For the last two consecutive shows, it’s evident that this is one of Uganda’s classic oldies show due to the big turn up at the Serena.
The rationale of the event is to have entertainers that rocked back in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and bring to life those epic memories for both millennials and old generation to savour and share experiences.
Tugende mu Kikadde has been a springboard for artistes to re-connect with their longtime fans back then. It has been graced with artistes such as Afrigo Band, Halima Namakula, Kabuye Ssemboga, Mariam Ndagire and Frank Mbalire among others.
Ms. Sonia Karamagi Kasagga, the senior marketing manager at Stanbic Bank, said: “We want to bring joy and happiness to Ugandans and also to promote our culture. As Stanbic, we will be offering ease and convenient of payment to the public at 20 percent discount if they are using Visa or MasterCard regardless of their banks.”
“I am glad and ready to hit you with my Reggae songs come Saturday, May, 4. This is a very good concept because it enables the young generation to have an opportunity to see and listen from their elders in the music industry,” Madoxx Sematimba assured the audience.
And Willy Mukabya affirmed: “I thank the organisers for always reminding the people of what happened in the industry back then and for those that were present and the millennials should have a chance to learn and enjoy. I have planned a special performance that will leave every one marvelling.”
The edition will feature longtime artistes such as Madoxx Sematimba, Angella Kalule, Chance Nalubega, Willy Mukabya, Betty Mpologoma and a surprise artiste.
The show has attracted corporate sponsors such as Nile Breweries, Capital FM, Beat FM, Africell, Silk Events, Spear Motors, Schweppes, Sparkes Saloon, NTV, Spark TV and Stanbic Bank.
Tickets will cost only UGX100,000 for VIPs, UGX300,000 for the VVIPs, and a table at only UGX3m.
