
KAMPALA – Gone are the days when band music shows were held in Kampala city suburbs in common areas such as; Makindye, Nansana, Bwaise, Kawempe and other local bars and upcountry towns.
The script has flipped of late and some of them are redefining the adage and are aiming higher and have proved their worth in the music industry.
Catherine Kusasira, a member of the Golden Band is one such artiste, she has announced her concert dubbed “Tears of a woman” that is scheduled to take at Serena Hotel Kampala on Friday, September 20, where President Museveni is expected to attend the VIP show as the Guest of Honour.
The president recently attended singer Bebe Cool’s “Golden heart” concert in Kololo.
According to Ms Kusasira, she has revealed that the fountain of Honour confirmed his presence and will attend the concert to support her and see what other musicians have in store.
“Am a performer and a singer who has been doing this for a long time and call upon all of you to come and attend my show that will be filled with energy expect the best I assure you. You know me as full- filler as in the past as I work towards my legacy.” She added.
Kusasira is one of the pioneer members of the Golden Band comprised of Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja, Grace Ssekamatte, Maureen Nantume among others.
Relatedly, she is known for her numerous songs such as “Sonyiwa Bano”, “Gutujja”, “Nalalira”, “Bwosiba face”, “Ekitiibwa Kya’baami to mention but a few.
Revellers will part with only UGX 100,000 and a table will cost UGX 3M.
