KAMPALA – Alikiba a popular Tanzanian star whose real names is Ali Saleh Kiba is set to perform this Friday, September 13, at Hockey Grounds in Lugogo.
This will be three years after his act at the 15th edition at Blanket and Wines in 2016.
According to the organisers; Nexus Events, our own home-grown talented artists such as Sheebah Karungi, John Blaq among others shall serenade the revelers at this week’s event. Popular comedian Salvado will be the event’s MC.
Kiba got an international breakthrough when he became one of the most celebrated artists in East Africa for his album “Cinderella” that was a hot item back then.
He has also worked with both local and international icons like Sauti Sol, Abby Skillz, Lady Jaydee, Diamond Platnumz, Ne- yo, R – Kelly among others.
The king of Bongo Flava has won accolades at MTV EMA awards as the African Act ( 2016) and won numerous Tanzania Music awards for over a decade.
However, he went silent for some time during which period a new breed of stars artists like Diamond Platinumz and Harmonize rose to continental prominence who have collectively elevated the Tanzanian flag on the international scene through music.
The talented star has produced formidable bangers that have dominated the airwaves even in 2019 because of the magical touch and choreography in them, some of his hits include; “Chekecha Cheketua” , ” Mwana Aje”, “Mapenzi” “Yana run Dunia” , ” Seduce me” to mention but a few.
