KAMPALA – “Ebiluma abayaye” is arguably the most trending phrase in the local entertainment scene today. However, who started the phrase is a question that most people are asking.
A week ago, upcoming singer Buka Chimney went bare knuckles and accused TV personality and musician Crysto Panda for allegedly stealing his catchphrase ‘Ebiluma abayaye’ and making a song out of it.
Patrick Musasizi better known by his stage name Chozen Blood insists that Firebase singer Zex Bilangilangi deserves all the credit for starting the ebiluma abayaye slogan.
Much as several artistes have decided to use it in their songs, Zex Bilangilangi is one artiste that seems to have started the slang and has always promoted it through social media as he always tags it along his posts.
“Zex should be credited because he started the slogan in Uganda. All those artists who made songs out of the slogan should actually respect Zex. Gratitude is a must and they should understand that,” Chosen said in an interview on a local TV station.
Zex has also always filmed short skits of his lifestyle and in the videos, he always uses the phrase, making him the person who popularized the phrase.
Chozen asked for the artistes who have continually made songs from the slang to give all the credit to Zex for his creativity.

The ‘Sharp Shooter’ hit maker further advised Crysto Panda and Buka Chimney to stop the fights and concentrate on making more hits.
“All I can tell them is to get through with the fights, do more music and develop the music industry,” he said.
Buka Chimey and Crysto Panda have been at war over the phrase which has since left their fans divided trying to understand who made a better song.
Crysto Panda and Buka Chimney have both come under scrutiny for beefing over the slang. The latter revealed that he respects Zex for coming up with the slang while the former declines saying he didn’t steal the slang from anyone.
