
LAGOS – Nigerian based fast-rising rapper Ikechukwu Okoronkwo alias Aceberg held his first-ever Ugandan virtual listening party over the weekend at Kabira Country Club in Bukoto.
The experience of virtual meetings or concerts is gradually becoming the new normal in a bid to adjust with the measures put in place to control the spread of Covid-19.
The rapper who began his music career in 2013 brought together Ugandan entertainment journalists and addressed them virtually from Lagos Nigeria via Zoom.
Signed to Saint Justin World Entertainment (SJW) in March 2020, the artist is one of the good rappers of his generation evidenced by his latest hit single “Heart Breaker”.
While taking on questions after addressing virtually, the rap star emphasized how he loves doing music that impacts and is looking at changing the rap game in Nigeria and the entire African continent with his distinct style.
“I do soul kind of music that connects people. I call it hip-hop. I listen to a lot of music by different artists and I basically love good music. I am looking at releasing an album in the near future which I believe you will enjoy,” he explained.
The rapper added that he is currently in love with Burnaboy’s latest album, describing it as a collection of fantastic songs.
Aceberg’s virtual listeners’ party was the first time a Nigerian rapper hosted their listening party in Uganda and the attendees definitely had a good time out as they jammed to his nice tracks.
He also revealed that with his style, which is different from the regular Nigerian rap game, he is ready to showcase to the world his talent and redefine creativity with his craft.
The event which was sponsored by Pepsi and Sanyu FM also had a charity drive to raise funds for a victim of domestic violence where people donated generously to that effect.
