KAMPALA – When Comedy Store C.E.O released his first single dubbed ‘Bamuleke’ months in the lockdown, many thought he was unserious and just doing his usual comedy.
Muhangi’s singing career was not received well by the fans as they juxtaposed the singing Muhangi and the comic one but the singing one was deemed unfit for the game.
‘Bamuleke’ which was produced by Daddy Andre got some airplay on different TV and radio stations but that is how far it would go for the comedian and he decided to hang up the music boots sighting promotion, dedication, and supervision which all needed a lot of time.
“For starters, the song was an accident. I have a studio that I use to produce jingles but what happened is that the client refused this specific jingle and Andre told me to sing on it. I did and before I knew it, the song was done,” Muhangi said while appearing on a local lifestyle TV show.
Luck would then see the celebrated comedian get a free video shoot offer for the song by Sasha Vybz.
The singing comedian has now come back to reclaim his position in the music industry by picking off from where he had left off.
Muhangi recently contacted Artin Pro, who is a producer with numerous hits to his name to record another song dubbed ‘Kunyumilwa’. The song talks about his desire to enjoy himself with the girl he loves.
If serious, Muhangi joins the likes of Amooti Omubalanguzi who are ably juggling comedy and music. All the best Muhagi.
