KAMPALA — National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has endorsed singer and NBS TV presenter Sekidde Robert alias Tuff B’s brand new song titled “Rise Up” dedicated to the People Power struggle.
From the time Bobi Wine joined politics, a number of musicians have restructured their brands and music to suit the new normal in the industry which is highly politicized lately. Tuff B is one of the artistes that has strongly backed ‘the struggle’.
“Big up my brother #TuffB. When we rise up we must indeed stand for the truth. Our loud voices must be used to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Let us encourage everyone to speak through their vote. Let us all come out and vote. We can change so much through voting, guarding our vote and defending our vote! #PeoplePower, OurPower”.
In the song that was produced by Yese Oman Rafiki, the Dolphin Foundation CEO talks about the things he would love to see change when the wave of change assumes leadership.
Singing about the injustices of the current regime, the singer also mentions some of the strongholds of the struggle including Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, Joel Ssenyonyi and Muhammad Ssegirinya.
Tuff B, who was once a strong supporter of Bebe Cool and part of the Gagamel Army has over the years shown he is not with him anymore. He now supports Bobi Wine openly and all his causes under People Power.Through his social media platforms, he has made it clear that he is part of the team that wants change.
Many artists have recorded songs for the struggle in hope for a better Uganda. These artists not only hail from the central part of the country but also the other regions of the country. It is also important to note that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) new comer Ronald Mayinja also did a song for the National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal dubbed ‘Batitiizi’ urging him to remain strong amidst all he will encounter since his opponents are just cowards that cannot stomach the fact that he is defying the odds to run for the top most position in the country.
