
KAMPALA, Uganda — The Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is set to host its annual Cultural Gala on Friday, April 4, featuring performances by top Ugandan artists Vinka and Fik Fameica.
The event, sponsored by Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), promises to offer a thrilling experience with high-energy performances from several renowned artists and DJs.
This year’s gala will showcase Uganda’s diverse cultural heritage through drama, awards, mimes, and surprise performances. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with the Coca-Cola brand at experience zones and enjoy free Coca-Cola drinks.
Macklean Kukundakwe, Head of Trade and Marketing at Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda, expressed excitement about the company’s involvement in the event. “We are thrilled to support the MUBS Cultural Gala, which celebrates the richness and diversity of Uganda’s culture and tradition,” she said.
Kukundakwe emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting young talent, whether through music, dance, or storytelling. “We are here to uplift and support young people to showcase their unique identities,” she added.
Moses Amanya, the MUBS Guild President, urged the student community to embrace the event with pride. “We should feel proud of who we are, and when you are called upon to present the tribe you belong to, feel proud and do it with all your heart,” he said.
The MUBS Cultural Gala brings together students from various countries, including South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, and other African nations, alongside Ugandan students representing over 40 tribes.
The event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the university’s vibrant, diverse community, with music, dance, and theatre taking center stage.
