
KAMPALA – The government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health (MoH) has on Wednesday 14 signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the government of Japan aimed at promoting people’s health.
According to MoH, the signed MoU is aimed at;
1. Health promotion prevention and early interventions,
2. Control and treatment of Communicable diseases; HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, Hepatitis B, Diarrhoea) and Non-Communicable Diseases,
3. Increasing access to hygienic and affordable toilets,
4. Collaboration on acquiring innovation in medical-related industries,
And improving Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health to reduce mortality and morbidity
Uganda thanked the Government of Japan for continuously supporting Uganda in her development path especially in the area of Infrastructure Development, Human Capital Development through numerous trainings; and in the Health Sector – through the provision of appropriate Medical Equipment and health systems strengthening through infrastructure development, quality improvement, training and capacity building.
