GULU– One person died instantly while nine others sustained injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in got involved in an accident along Gulu-Omoro road on Tuesday night.
The Tipper lorry UAV 991V carrying female inmates from Lamoki village in Anaka town Nwoya district to Gulu had its tyre burst between Koch Kweyo and Ongako.
Police identified the deceased as Erio Norah while the injured include Prossy Amito Winnie Adoch, Prossy Amal, Christine Amiya, Aisha Lamara and Winnie Aromo, among others.
Aswa region Police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema said the body of the deceased has been taken to Gulu Hospital mortuary for postmortem while those injured are undergoing treatment at the same facility.
