KAMPALA–High Court judge, Wilson Kwesiga has released Mathew Kanyamunyu, the key suspect in the murder of child worker, Keneth Akena.
Kanyamunyu is indicted for the murder of social worker Akena in November last year along the Kampala-Jinja highway in Lugogo.
This was the fourth time that High Court was seating to hear his bail application with the first three attempts having been dismissed by judges Elizabeth Kabanda and Yasin Nyanzi.
In his fourth bail application, Kanyamunyu raised the same grounds that had been earlier rejected by the two judges.
He argued that bail is his constitutional right and having spent months on remand minus a trial kicking off.
Kanyamunyu is indicted for the murder of social worker, Akena in November last year along the Kampala-Jinja highway in Lugogo.
He is jointly charged with his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and elder brother Joseph Kanyamunyu, who were earlier released on bail.
