KAMPALA–High Court judge Stephen Musota has Tuesday ordered Government to produce the missing suspects who were recently rearrested by security operatives, after being granted bail by Nakawa Magistrate court.
The order followed an application in court Monday by their relatives through their lawyer Anthony Wameeli.
They argued that Umar Maganda, Ahmed Senfuka, Ibrahim Khisa and Abdul Majidu Ojegere who are accused of murdering former police spokesperson were rearrested 2 weeks ago but have never been formally charged with any offence before any court of Law.
They also informed court that the 4 men are being held incommunicado with no access to their lawyers, doctors, or relatives and they don’t know where exactly they are being detained at the moment.
Responding to the application, the State Attorney Allan Mukama who represented the Attorney General denied having knowledge of the whereabouts of the four men, though, he volunteered to help court trace them.
Ruling on the matter, Justice Musota said that he had been satisfied by the evidence suspects’ adduced by the suspects’ relatives.
He ordered the Attorney General to produce the bodies of the said men dead or live by 30/November/2017, for court to inquire into the validity of their detention.
