
Thousands of Christians countrywide are participating in the Way of the Cross walk that highlights the passion and death of Jesus Christ on Good Friday.
In Kampala, Christians under the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) are observing the event that comes ahead of Easter Sunday.
Church leaders started sessions from their respective church headquarters as they marched towards Nakivubo Stadium. Church of Uganda Archbishop Stanley Ntagali and Kampala Bishop Hannington Mutebi led a procession from All Saints Cathedral while Father Emmanuel Ssekyewa marched from the Orthodox Church in Namungoona.
Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga led a group of Christians from Lubaga Cathedral.

The public way of the cross 2018 is held under the theme “Courage, the Lord is our strength and guide”.
Anglicans and Catholics in Ntungamo District are also holding a joint Way of the Cross in Ntungamo Municipality.
South Ankole Diocese Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe and Rev Fr Richard Denis Ssebugwawo, the vicar of Sacred Heart Ntungamo Catholic Parish, led the procession that included Kajara MP Micheal Kamugisha, Ntungamo RDC Justine Mbabazi and DPC Katwesiime Damian.

In Kabale, Christians from Christ the King Church in Kabale Town marched through Kabale town as they celebrated Good Friday. The parish priest, Fr Fred Birungi and his assistant, Fr Prosper Turyahabwe, called for repetence.
