Asp Kato Francis the Oc Station of Kyebando has Thursday morning been knocked dead as he crossed the road a few metres from Kyebando Police Post.
Eye witnesses at the scene say the car that knocked Kato turned and the occupants came to confirm whether he was dead.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the senior police officer has been investigating a case at Jinja Road Police Station and this could be the cause of his death.
Police deputy spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident adding that Kato’s body had been taken to Mulago hospital as investigations go on.
