KABALE- One person was killed and four others severely injured on Monday morning following a head -on collision between a Kigali bound bus and a trailer.
Reports reaching this website confirm that the Kigali-bound bus registration number UBA 067 Y belonging to a top passenger and courier service provider, Modern Coast collided head-on with a Mercedes Benz trailer registration number T467BFX /T714.
Kigezi regional Police spokesman, Elly Maate said the accident occurred at Kyonyo along the Kabale – Katuna road a few yards away from the controversial landslides spot.
He confirmed the deceased as Samson Onyango Agutu, 24, a Kenyan national, who was the turn man of the cargo trailer.
The injured are Phionah Kamikazi 28, Hamina Jasibu 24; both residents of Kagarama in Kigali Rwanda; Peter Omboga, 60, a Kenyan who were both passengers on the bus, as well as Eridoni Mageto 24, the bus conductor.
The accident, Maate says, happened at 5am of Monday morning.
The injured are receiving treatment at Kabale regional referral hospital.
