
BUGIRI –The opposition JEEMA candidate, Mr Asuman Basalirwa, has clinched the Bugiri Municipality parliamentary seat in an election marked by shades of violence.
Basalirwa, who was declared winner at around 12.30am on Saturday morning, garnered 3,928 votes, beating his closest rival, NRM’s Oketcho, who polled 3,267 votes. FDC’s Eunice Namatende polled 928.
