
KAMPALA – Tears of joy filled court as Lillian Rukundo a Mass Communication student at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono who is facing charges of producing and broadcasting a pornographic video temporally unites with her family after court granting her bail.
When the case came up for hearing on Monday afternoon, one of the prosecution witnesses, court heard that Rukundo 23, was reported very sick and admitted at Luzira health facility.
Prison authorities told Buganda Road Chief Magistrate under the Utilities and Wildlife Court, Ms Mary Babirye that Rukundo had gotten an asthma attack and collapsed in the morning while boarding the prison bus.
Ms Babirye then issued a production warrant for Rukundo to appear in court on Tuesday to present her bail application and after considering her health condition; she has granted her a non-cash bail of Shs500, 000 and ordered her sureties to sign a Shs 10million bond.
She is jointly charged with renowned blogger Kato Ashiraf alias Ashburg Katto who was yesterday on the same bail conditions.
Last week Rukundo was charged with eight charges which included producing and broadcasting pornographic video contrary to section 13(1) and (2) of the Anti- Pornography Act 2014.
Prosecution states that Rukundo in the year 2017 at Jordan Courts Hostel, Mukono district produced a video of herself masturbating while pushing her finger in and out of her vagina in a highly graphic, vivid, explicit and offensive/noxious manner intended to arouse the sexual feelings of whoever may happen to see it.
It is further stated that Rukundo paused for and took a picture of her naked self from the breasts down to the knees in a highly graphic, vivid, explicit and offensive/noxious manner intended to arouse the sexual feelings of whoever may happen to see it, to a friend on facebook account called Ian Lon.
Katto is facing charges of broadcasting Rukundo’s pornographic video on the social media.
Prosecution states that Katto on May 24, 2018 in Kampala in the Kampala district, broadcasted on the social media a picture of Rukundo depicting her naked self from the breasts down to the knees in a highly graphic, vivid, explicit and offensive/noxious manner intended to arouse the sexual feelings of whoever may happen to see it.
The duo’s luck run out after a whistle blower tipped the Anti-panographic committee that was put in place by the Ethics and Integrity minister Fr. Simon Lukodo that the two posted the contentious pictures on their official social network pages.
