ENTEBBE – One of Entebbe town’s most luxurious hangouts point- O’s Bar and Grill has shut down over chocking rent arrears, PML Daily has learnt.
Located along Station Road in Entebbe town, and owned by flamboyant dude Merlyn Omamtaker , the bar’s demise is the culmination of simmering financial hardships that have crippled the bar since last year.
In the recent past, it had garnered a reputation as one of the most sought after night hide-out for affluent class people and UN expatriates because of its outside bar ambiance and ample parking space.
But according to our scoops, the club is no more.
It is reported that owner Merlyn Omamtaker inadvertently sowed the seeds of business’s downfall when he spent over Shs400m to organize a botched musical concert featuring reggae artist Gyptian that was slated on December 26, 2017 at Peniel Beach Entebbe.
Since then Mr. O’s as he is fondly called by his disciples has been at sixes and sevens to pay the expenses incurred after the botched concert and this has trickled down to the daily operations of the bar. Many of the bar’s employees have been demanding up to four months arrears, while the less talked about the enormous electricity bills, the better.
In the desperate bid to recover the Gyptian concert money back, Merlyn- son of Rose Omamtaker, the proprietor of Entebbe Junior and Rose Mary Courts, sued the Hold You singer and his management seeking compensation and the case is in court waiting for a ruling to a court in America to be enforced.
